Getting wet down the front...

WOW!!!!! Seems odd a Whites rep wouldn't respond too this.... Well, actually not really, it's already out of their door, why have good customer relation's? Just a thought

The guys on here respond as often as they are able - they travel all over the US most of the time and have been superb - especially when sending a PM. Also, calling Whites produces excellent results.

They didn't seem too have a problem responding/deleting my post in less than an hour when it was against them. Seems if it is good for them, they respond. If not, OH WELL! Glad too know they treat someone with acceptable service. Your comment about a call to Whites produces excellent results, I guess you need too be a private indavidual. I was a dealer in the NW and the rep for the artea has been not alot of help working with me too sell their product. Last year they stopped at a non Whites dealer rather than stopping here too help promote whites sales here in Central Oregon during the Whites days. Great way too work with their dealer's in a crappy economy!!!!!

I've got a Fusion w/ the tech skin, has probably less than 20 dives on it - got it in April. I'm loving it, however, on my last two dives I've gotten wet down my front. On my last dive, Wednesday, I had on a red t-shirt under my MK2 and when I took the Fusion off the t-shirt was wet (darker red) from the neck of the t all down the front across my whole chest and stomach.

I'm thinking it's that the neck seal isn't sealing correctly for some reason, but could it be something else? The reason I'm thinking it's the front of the neck seal is because of the wetness pattern on my t-shirt. It was wet from the top of the shoulders - but not down the arms - all down the front of me as I said but not on the sides or back at all.

It doesn't help keeping me warm in 42F water!!

Zipper has been waxed after every other dive, neck seal was trimmed before it was ever dove and hasn't been touched since (only leaked on last two dives), I clean it after every dive and it hangs in the basement on a Hang-Air with the zipper closed.

Any ideas?!?

Sorry to hear that you are getting wet through your neck seal it definitley sounds like that is the issue. When you trimmed the neck how many rings did you trim off the seal? Or if you don't remember can you tell me how many rings are left on the seal? Also what is your neck measurement?

It is obvious from this, and other posts, that you have an axe to grind against White's. While not getting into the validity of your gripe, you offered nothing towards the concerns of the OP with regards to his problems. You have made your position clear - I am trying to say nicely that if you have nothing to add, then don't add anything (God Canadians can be painfully polite, can't we?).

On a separate note, I have had excellent service from White's both times I had to send my suit back for repairs. Once was for a seam that leaked (after about 300 dives), and once was to repair a hole in the bottom of the boot (obviously something I stepped on). Both times I had my suit repaired and returned quickly, at no charge. My LDS uses the excellent service provided by White's as a selling point for people considering a drysuit purchase.

To the OP - my father in law dives a Fusion and, as others mentioned, when he had the suspenders too tight, it did cause the suit to pull slightly, which created minor leaking. Other than a neck seal trimmed too short, that would seem to me to be a logical culprit. Hope this helped...

Thanks! I PM'd Original Renegade the details and I'm confident we'll get this ironed out.

I did trim the seal according to their pdf instructions on their website. My neck is about 16" near the adam's apple where the seal would be.

Other than that I love the suit!!

I am glad you guys will sort it out. The suit is nice - if I were purchasing another, I'd be looking at the Fusion.

Hi all I too have a Fusion dry suit and I am so sweaty diving in monterey 49d water that I could think that it is leaking. So does everyone sweat up so much in the suit? How do you deal with the excess sweat? I am supposed to be diving dry but I am wet from sweat almost as much as if it had a leak not a flood. Help..............

I trimmed my first seal according to how I understood the instructions and it leaked on me after about 7 months of use. the following seals I trimmed uncomfortably snug because as others have stated they stretch.
I'd have to say yours stretched out and leaks when you look up.
I wouldn't recommend hanging a dry suit for storage, after its dry roll and bag it to keep the latex away from ozone.

First, I would try to not overheat while dressing up. It may also be a good idea to flush the suit with air a few times before you jump in, to remove as much humidity as possible.

Secondly, I would use a undersuit that transports humidity away from your skin.

Thirdly, make sure you have good trim and buoyancy (the definition of this is that if you stop swimming, you don´t sink or float, and you stay horizontal),
And remember diving is not supposed to be a swim competition (you probably knew that, but just in case)
