Are there budget airlines that fly direct from Rome, or airports not too far from Rome, to Marsa Alam or Sharm El Sheikh? I am wondering how easy it is to tack on a week of diving to a trip that will end up in Italy.

Hi,
Most flights to the Red Sea destinations, if not all, are from northern Italy, Bologna seems nearest. Neosair, easyjet. Marsa Alam and Sharm El Sheikh are very popular with Italians.
