I know there are 3 dive centers in the area of Wadi Lahmi.
1- Red Sea Diving Safari
2- Orca Dive Club
3- Barakuda Diving

I think everyone knows the "Red Sea Diving Safari" but their accomodation prices have become very expensive. Fury shoals are great but reasonable prices was a major reason going there. So now I am looking into alternatives as well. Would be great if you can share your findings if any...

Have you looked at the Azur resort (and Orca Divers) , just north of the one you mention?

Does anyone have experience there....?

Wife and I stayed at Wadi Lahmy Azur Resort in April 2024 and did shore diving at the resort with Orca dive club.

We liked the resort , nice rooms , good service and surprisingly good food.
We were there 1 week before a 2 week liveaboard out of Port Ghalib and then a 1 week liveaboard .
We only did 1 dive per day from the end of the pier, coral very nice south of the pier and mostly dead north of the pier. Some fish and turtles, easy diving even with waves.
We went there to ease into our 5 week trip with 3 weeks of boat diving following our time at the resort.
Orca was a good dive op for our purposes.

Stayed at both Red Sea Diving Safari and Wadi Lahmy/Orca Dive Club, though that was years ago, could have changed since.
Both were pretty nice, and are quite close to each other - Red Sea is smaller and more boutique, dive op runs on RIBs, so that meant 7 AM departure but no need to travel to the port, and you are often first to the site. Wadi Lahmy/ Orca is a slightly bigger operation, albeit still quite quiet as far as this types of resorts go. Dive op runs from a big day boat from nearby port, quite comfy and bigger than some liveaboards there but slower than RIB, often coming back 15/16.00 or later. That said they do also offer RIB if you wish to be "faster in/out".
Diving with both was pretty well organized, a bit comfier on the Orca side with the big boat, especially if dragging cameras with you. On the other hand Red RIB meant one was often first to the site, before any day boats, just more bumpy.
Enjoyed both to be honest, it did help though that I could get at the time resident prices at Red Sea, otherwise they are quite pricey indeed. Hence for a later trip went with Wadi/Orca Lahmy as a more wallet friendly choice (especially that could book room for literally 50% of places like booking/expedia via some German holiday websites)
