Hi, I've been on a Scuba hiatus for 2 years now. Trying to catch up and making sure I haven't missed anything. I got certified as a Rescue Diver through PADI in 2008 with a Nitrox cert as well. My question is are all my textbooks and charts still good? Is there any updated versions I need to go buy? Thank you very much.

Thanks, how long do CPR certs last for? 1 year?

Depends. I believe that the American Heart Association BLS (geared towards healthcare providers) CPR course grants a 2 year certification, whereas the typical American Red Cross Adult CPR class gives a 1 year cert. Re-certifying annually isn't a bad idea even if you go the AHA route.

Ah icic, good to know, thanks again! Is it still 2 breaths & 30 compressions?

A refresher course is a great idea. Some easy dives would be a good idea to get used to everything.

Yes it is 30 compressions to 2 breaths.

Welcome back.

Roger that, thanks for the posts. I'm planning on getting all my gear serviced, (it's been sitting on my back deck for the past two years in a plastic bin haha). Do a few classes over and brush up on info. Then go on some easy dives at the Quarry.
