I used to get it all the time while I was over in the US, and no matter how many times I told them it was Clive and not Francis, they kept bloody calling me Francis.

Lets just say I was glad to come home

I made the same error, but can't explain why. Were they doing it intentionally, or just slipping up?

it was the Puget Sound light ship....

I work with an american called Kevin Keith and used to share a house with a guy called Adam George - they go through hell being called by their surname all the time!!!

after the same guy did it 3 or 4 times even though i had corrected him every time, i figure he was either stupid or taking the piss and gave up in the end and just said yeah what ever
