Poring over catalogs now.

Surely someone has found a low-cost comparable generic connector for these? I love OTS, but I don't have a wallet for their plugs...

These are fruity underwater electrical connectors. You can get them with up to ten conductors pretty easily.

OTS trade name for their connector is called 'Hi-Use'. It's four conductors, but it is two male and two female per end.

They want about $90 a connector (single). I am thinking there is a place they are buying them from, and I just haven't cracked the nomenclature yet, but I feel (again) like I am reinventing the wheel.

Just assumed someone would know where to get them generic and inexpensively. (shrugs) Never know unless you ask, right?

behold!

Is it market fluctuation due to manoeuvres in the Ukraine, was last I looked, or am I a bit behind in my manoeuvres

They've always been pricey because they are for people with a government credit card, not some dag in the flyover part of America.

There's no reason for a connector to be a hundred dollars in 2024. The chinese have copied everything else...

There are a few connectors out there that I would try for underwater use. As long as you don't need them to come apart underwater..... like 1 canister with different corded lights to plug in...

I totally agree. And I don't need to mate underwater, just disconnect in an emergency. Unfortunately, I don't want to whack off the mating connector, because I have a little invested in the ecosystem.
