I knew a guy who did an adapted version of this back in the 1980s, but much deeper. His local garage use to 'bank' air to fill tyres, and through some kind of adaptor he will fill his tank with banked air (not full, but enough to get wet).

Of course, the air is completely unfiltered, and the intake was from the air around a busy petrol station. It smelled bad, but was probably far worse. I can only imagine the risks associated with breathing those toxins under pressure.

Heh. This may be the one case where Spare Air is the better of two competing solutions.

P.S. I agree with what others have said, not a good idea for a lot of reasons.

Could I use a 3lit pony cylinder filled with a heavy duty car compressor, to say 150psi....
for diving no deeper than 1 or 2 meters to free boat propellors or just for a bit of fun.

would i get say 15 minuts out of it or .........

Brian,

You now have 16 posts explaining that all of this is a very bad idea. If you breath improperly compressed air, you will breath a much higher concentration of pollutants than you would in a normal environment. This could kill you. Is that clear enough?

Perhaps you could learn about free-diving to clear your propeller?

Diving is not about breathing underwater. It is about learning all the risks associated with this sport so you know when, where, and how to survive aborting a dive. It's like sky-diving - you don't just strap on a parachute and go.

Please . . .do not do any of the things you asked about. You could die.
