I'm looking to add a general purpose light... Night dives and day dives. Have read way too much about lights here on SB. :dork2:

I'm looking for feedback on the 2 lights I'm considering if you have actual experience with them and what your recommendation might be as far as quality and reliability. I don't need to light up the ocean on my night dives but need something bright enough to poke into holes during the day. I like the 2 below because they are variable power. Looking for that elusive opinion that comes once you've owned one or used one.

My 2 front runners:

Xstar D06

T6 Cree

T6 Cree is perfect price. Xstar is at the top end of what I want to spend but have read good things about it.

Thanks in advance.

Anyone own the Xstar D06? Or the Cree T6?

The T6 Cree can be powered by 3AAA's or one 18650 battery which I like. Any downside to the 18650 battery?
