Also there is http://www.stolenscubagear.com/ maybe they can help!

The registry only works if people use it. Apparently nobody is using Stolenscubagear.com because there are only 70 records and the last one was March 31, 2004. It's a good idea. Maybe there should be a registry on Scubaboard.:coffee:

That's low:shakehead

Has anyone had any gear stolen?

When I went to Blue Grotto with my dad, and someone stole my brand new escape bc. It also had my gloves in my pocket. I think its pathetic for someone to steal from others like that. Scuba gear has a great cash back even used, so thats why its so common. Someone stooped pretty low, to steal a 16 year olds bc. You would think that you could trust other divers, obviously thats not the case.

Whoa, somebody else that uses an escape! That makes.......like, three of us. Anyway, sorry to hear it was stolen. :sad_2:

that was really really low

Well that is hard to read but is true,I trust most all divers with my gear and have dove the Grotto, left my kit on a picnic table, while I washed off. never thought about it being lifted or my other stuff while I was on a spring dive at any of the other sites,
Guess I will lock it all up in the car now.
Don't give up on diving or divers as with most things there are a few bad apples out there!
Dive safe,
Brad

Yes, at the end of my open water checkout dive (a long time ago) :-) someone stole 1 Jet Fin, and left the other. We kind of know who did it since he had a fin strap break on on a previous dive and he had the same fin as mine. The bright yellow markings with my name did not slow him down. Very Low!

My Dad taught me keep my gear, locked up, clipped in, or tied down if I didn't want to lose it. A lesson that has stayed with me all my life. However, there's not much you can do about a determined thief.
