Back in the good 'ol days (the 70's), when one of us ran out of air, we'd pop our J valve and head for the surface. If the guy didn't make it, he'd buddy breath the rest of the way. If we both ran out ya just dropped your weight belt, right?
Besides, at 16 years old, you know you're gonna' live forever...
