The front frame of my galileo sol detached from the mainbody. How should i glue it back ?

I would contact Scubapro and see if they will replace it. Its an unusual failure and they may want to see what went wrong.

Velkom to the club. We should have a forum for Galileo owners with detached plates.

My solution was to glue it back with J-B Weld Marine Epoxy. First I roughened the inside metal surface a bit with emery cloth, removed some of the old glue, and put some glue on the glue areas. To hold the plate to the computer I put the thing on some soft cloths face down, and used a small soft diving weight (on the back of the computer) to hold it down. After several dives it has not come apart.

I bought the glue at O'Reilly's auto store.

Please return the Galileo through an authorized dealer and the face plate can be re-bonded to the wrist unit.

Thank you Jules, im going to contact the authorized dealer next to me and see if they will fix it, i hope they will do it for free !! Lets say, that this kind of problem in a dive computer like da Galileo Sol is not something to expect.

Weird. I had the same thing happen to me yesterday during a dive and came here to ask about this very issue. However I don't have the faceplate as I only noticed its absence after it had departed. I am in Mexico for another month and a half so I intended to continue to dive with it in that period. Unless anyone has a better suggestion? I am concerned about getting scratches on the glass. It seems like something you would not expect on a computer of this cost. It has something in the order of about 250 dives on it...rinsed in fresh water after each and every use.

I agree, it's definitely a weak spot of this computer. As far as the screen goes, I put a Zagg screen protector on mine and removed the plastic thing and never looked back.

Not sure where I would pick up one of those here. There is an office supply store a couple of blocks from here so I will see what they have but I am not optimistic. Meanwhile, have sent a note off to the LDS where I bought this.

So back in Canada and took the computer into LDS who contacted ScubaPro rep. New part is being ordered but rep says it won't be covered by warranty and the dealer will need to glue it on. I like many of this computer's features but for such an expensive computer, it sure has had a lot of problems. I would never buy another nor recommend given my experiences.

I choose to acquire some waterproof glue and attached the plate I've made few dives since then and it's ok.
