Ok, in true OCD fashion I wasn't sure I was getting full range of tuning using G260 levers on G250s so pulled a few apart tonight to check.

It seems setting the lever just shy of freeflow prior to installing the diaphragm and cover has the lever sitting very high above the rim of the case, as photo attached. It requires over 3/4 of a turn in on the orifice to drop it low enough to install diaphragm without it leaking.

With a G260 lever specs indicate cracking around 1.1" or just over (lowest possible to achieve) with Venturi on max it'll violently freeflow if purge pressed, with Venturi on min freeflow will stop once you release purge. Air starts to flow after less than 2mm of purge. On paper "looks" to be functioning as it should but I'm guessing the working range of air flow is less.

Bottom line, although they seem to work, with my limited knowledge at this stage I'd not recommend them.

Happy to send one or three of you gurus a lever to try for yourself, perhaps you could post a more definitive and accurate report.

Anyway, offers there. Sorry if I've sent anyone up the wrong path.

:letsparty: (you know I'm kidding).

Always interesting discoveries. Somehow we will all get this sorted out. Herman's lever tool keeps coming to mind as a valuable asset in all this.....

Update:

Rebuilt two of the G250s going back to the later model square feet levers (not curly feet), took them out today, noticeably easier breathing than when using the G260 levers. Good news and bad news all at the same time. Don't I look silly now buying 10 G260 levers. Yet another lesson learned.

Bad news I'm afraid, Herman has no stock and has no intention of making anymore, apparently slow to move and a pain to make Bummer. Anyone have one they want to sell?
