Vie, Apeks cost more than SP in Thailand :11:!?

Yup. That's why I'll be looking at the MK19 closely when it comes out... Gf is occasionally diving doubles now so if the hose routing is nice, she'll be getting Scubapros.

Hi Vie,
You're lucky, at least your gf dives regularly and she even uses doubles. My gf gear is currently collecting dust LOL!

The Mk19 looks very interesting, a turreted version of the Mk17. The hose routing should be just as good as a Mk25.

Vie, please keep me posted when you get more info on this reg.

G250V is good for the cold water. If you don't dive in a cold water, why does it matter? G250HP is still working great at 39 degree water, even with MK25F.

MK19 must be a good choice for the double hose routing if someone really care about the cold water rig though. Otherwise, I can't see any reason to replace my current rig...

S600 classic isn't just cosmetic, but an 40th year anniversary version.

It should (hopefully) route better than the MK25 (on AL80 doubles) because the length of the first stage is shorter... I find the MK20/25 workable but really a tight fit with my Evolve 40/AL80 doubles combo. Anyway, at the moment I find Apeks FSTs work best. Even the FSR is tight, especially on the left post.

hoosier is right in that we don't need to use "cold water regs" around here but I've found the "warm water" first stages (Apeks UST/US4, Scubapro MK20/25, etc.) to offer less than optimal hose routing for my preference.

Sure. Hopefully the LDS will let me take photos when they come in... For some reason it's very hard to find Scubapro DIN regs "out of the box" here (dealers sell separate DIN parts with yoke first stages - a bit of a con) so it might be a long while yet before I can find any DIN MK19s...

here are some of the differences
Mainly an all metal tube and adjustment knob, metal adj orifice,
unit is more like the original G250 than the 250HP

MK17 is definately shorter than MK25 though. I don't think there will be any difference on the length between MK19 with MK25 because of the swivel part. I understand your point because I dived with an exact same set (Evolve 40/AL80 doubles) yesterday. However, another reason that the hose route isn't optimal is a relatively shorter tank neck on AL tank than the steel tank. Finally, the upper tank band is another factor depending on how high it is placed.

If you want some deal, you also have to buy a DIN kit separately in U.S.

In addition, G250V is another marketing in my perspectives.

Davis... Thanks...

I think the MK19, even with the swivel, is shorter than a MK25 measuring from the DIN wheel to the LP port at the end - this will hopefully be better for hose routing on AL80 doubles. As good as Apeks FST? I don't know yet...

This is true - as I've said in many previous posts, AL80 doubles will limit your first stage choices somewhat... I like my tank bands very high too.

Hmm~~` That is an interesting point. I look forward to seeing MK19...... You know, I grabbed MK17 recently. I don't dive it yet. I was worried about MK25AF/G250HP for the ice diving, but it handled 39 degree water very well. I haven't tried it at 35 degree though. The winter is already over here.

AL80s is my GF's set, so I randomly use her set. You're right. She is using Apeks FST. (No complaint)...

I really would like to know more about this new series of regs from SB but personally I think I'll be still on my trusty DS4 and FST when SP is on to their MK40 or 50....
