Thought you might like to know....

there is now a really nice metal ladder at the deep entry of Whitestar Quarry. The rungs are close enough to make climbing easy no matter your height. They are designed such that you can wear your fins when climbing out if you so choose. & there are handles high enough to help one climb completely out of the water without help. Much nicer than using the rocks as a pseudo-ladder.

Geesh I was hoping to get the PADI certification on scuba rock climbing exits..... :crafty:

sell one of those to you..
$149.95. But you have to do two exits to complete it. And no, you don't have to have any scuba gear on. :eyebrow:
<tongue planted frimly in cheek>

Having never been there before, I can't really attest to how the exit was before, but that ladder was pretty sporty. Glad I didn't have to free climb that quarry wall, I didn't bring my rock shoes and chalk bag.

They just take all the fun out of the exits don't they ;) Geez how can I issue advanced certs to my students if they haven't tried balancing scuba tanks while climbing a rock wall with their fins on their wrists.

How much is the book? And how long does the classroom last?

Glad I wasn't one of your students! ;) But then, there are many exits that make the deep end of Whitestar always seem like a piece of cake.

Hey Paula, one group of them climbed the wall by the dive shop building one day rather than swim all the way to the exit point. Now THAT was an exercise ;)

Ber,

Yeah, I remember that day! That was interesting watching them start out, and having to go give a hand!

Now, what was that nickname you got that day?
