I prefer full foot fins and that's all I've ever used in GC, but this upcoming trip I want to shore dive Babylon. Is it possible to do this in ff fins without getting cut up? Is there a sand entry there or only iron shore?

Thanks

I haven't attempted a water entry with dive gear, but it is easy enough for me to wade barefoot into the water and don my full boot fins at Connolly's Cove. I haven't been to the Babylon water entry in a few years and would just be concerned about urchins. There are some fields of them around the Northern Lights condos which is between Queen's Monument and Babylon.

Thanks guys. Testudo, I was hoping to hear from you since you "wrote the book" (so to speak) :)

Haha. Sounds like I'll be fine. May get some whining from the wife, though.

Good luck. The Babylon entry is urchin city compared with Conollys Cove. I would use booties to enter & carry them. Or at least flip flops.

Yah, I personally would not want to enter the water at Babylon without booties on. Jam them in your BC pockets while diving.
