Great diving this weekend:
I had 2 adv nitrox students that did a 96 foot dive Saturday and 100 foot dive Sun, at Bull Point. We had 12-15 foot vis down to about 50 feet then right around 10 foot vis once we were deeper. The vis at the entry point was awesome. crystal clear. Water temp was 49 on the surf 46 at depth. There was a light current do to tidal shift but nothing strenuous. Saturday morning it was still snowing when we got in and out. Awesome.

In the afternoons I had 4 OW student over in the right (western) cove. It was low tide. had roughly 12 foot of vis. did 2-30 minutes dives each day. These students were diving wet and only felt cold when they were out of the water.

I'll post the conditions for next sunday after my Drysuit class.

Gibby

Sunday we also did a dive around the island at Ft. Wetherill (enter one cove exit in the other). Hung on the wall at the tip of the island at at about the 40- 45 ft level (it drops to around 60-70 if you follow it all the way down).

Water temps were 50 degrees, and the visibility was a little better than Gibby had further in the cove (we ran into him when we were leaving). Probably 15-20ft. We did catch a fairly stiff current running against us out at the tip of the island, which is not unusual for that particular spot.

Yup, aside from my rig doing a swan dive off my tailgate (my fault) doing $150 worth of damage the dive was great :)

No really, the conditions at Wetherill were really good. Very enjoyable dive on Sunday.

Definitely the first time I ever saw a bent regulator yoke. Very impressive effort.

A sacrifice like that to the the Ft. Wetherill gods should ensure good diving conditions for at least several months. :eyebrow:
