Donna and I got to Pepper Park just in time for a picnic lunch. So we had lunch and talked to some divers that were leaving the park after hunting for bugs. No one had any bugs and the viz reports were not good, but the seas were calm enough for a shore dive, so we geared up and headed out. The waves that were breaking were 1 -3 ft, mostly 1 - 2 ft and once in a while a 3 footer would come along.
Donna was checking out her new Zeagle Zena BC. When we got beyond the breakers, Donna found she didn't have enough weight, so she went back in and got some more. I waited in the water just outside the breakers. After Donna got back to me, she rested a bit, it was a long walk. Then we dropped down and headed East. We knew the viz was going to be bad, so we hooked ourselved together with a buddy line, about 6 ft of poly rope with a loop on each end. When Donna was at the end of the buddy line, all I could see was a shadow. Viz was bad, maybe 4 to 5 ft.
We went on out to the first reef line and swam around a bit, but the viz was so bad, we decided to call it a day. Donna's trim was much better with the new BC. 34 minutes total time, Max depth 13 ft, Water temp 84 Degrees F.
