I got out again today (6-14-09) to Ft. Pickens for a few dives. Visibility close to high tide was the same as yesterday at 10 feet with some areas down to about 5 ft due to the West winds, but I still had a good time. Water temperature was 75* with plenty of life buzzing around if you took the time to look around a bit. One of the highlights was finding a nice sized octopus hanging out inside of an old tire and a blue angelfish (my favorite) hanging around what appeared to be old culverts out at about 45-50 fsw. I took some more time to look around during today's dives to become more familiar with the current site to help with mapping what is out there. I made a decent sweep straight out to 52 fsw. I came then came back in a bit and swept to the East. I have not covered any ground to the West yet, nor have I went out to the 50 fsw area and made a good sweep. I really need to take the old map out with me and just cross off what isn't there anymore and what still is. If some of the old info is still good then that will be less to be done to get an accurate map together.
I won't be able to get out there much this coming week, but after that my schedule opens up big time, so if you want to get out there just shoot me a PM.
