Ft Lauderdale Shore Dives June 5 - 11

Anyone interested in doing some shore diving around Ft Lauderdale in early June? I plan to be there that week and wife likes to stay dry. Never been there before, but looking forward to it.

Will do. I take my laptop with me to use through cel phone. Sometimes it works, sometimes not. Hoping for the best this trip. After a week in the FTL area I'm planning to take the ferry on the 12th to spend a few days in Freeport before returning to Arkansas.

I'm usually available on the weekends, and love to shore dive. Any site from Lauderdale by the Sea down to Hollywood is fine with me, depending on conditions. (And I'm open to others, just inexperienced.)

The key is short surface swims, calm seas and healthy reef life, as far as I'm concerned.

Just look at the Private Trips folder a few days in advance and start a thread including the date and location in the title, and you'll have plenty of company.

I'm in for the weekend as well. Need to know with a bit of notice to arrange babysitting, as my wife is likely to join us.

Grier, for short, really short surface swims, we need to do 12th street in Pompano. I know it's a bit north for you, but the surface swim is 1/2 the distance than Datura.

Half the surface swim sounds great. I'm always glad to learn about a new shore site, especially since I'm much further north now.

BTW, thanks for everything yesterday. (Check out the dive report under the heading for beach dives 5/8-9)

What depth do you find on that close reef at 12th street in Pampano? It really doesn't make a lot of difference, I just like to find places with a lot of fish life. Also is spear-fishing allowed there? Never can tell when the munchies might show up after a day of diving.

Count me in! Pompano is fine. I dove there last year and it was IMHO as nice as LBTS.
Just give me some notice on the day, time and place as I have Hermit Crab also...
