Friend in Houston Looking to Re-Cert...

Any suggestions on where she should go? She was certified about 12 years ago...still has some of her gear (so she doesn't want to run out and buy a whole new kit-and-caboodle), but can't find her C-card. She is looking for a good shop to get re-certified, without being gouged at the LDS. I'd have her come to my LDS but she is in Houston and I am in San Antonio. Any thoughts?

Have her start by contacting the shop where she was certified, they should be able to track a new card down for her. They should have the records on file, or be able to tell her who to contact at the certifying agency.

Then she could do a re-fresher class with a LDS and not have to get re-certified. Unless she wants to.

If she was certified as a PADI diver, any PADI shop should (with her original certification name and birthdate) be able to track down her original cert. Jac may be able to do a refresher course for her.

Forget the local shop for finding the card just go to Padi.com send them the $20 bucks and a picture and be done with it. Though she does need a refresher course if she has not been diving.
check with Scuba "Divers Paradise" Houston, TX for all of your diving needs! for their refresher course. Seems like it was $45 bucks including the book last time I checked.

She's in Fresno, but works up by IAH (in Greenspoint area), so either would be fine.
