Friday Night Beach Party at Kawama's

ok I have a stupid question.............how is the insect issue at that time of year and that time of day/night? do I need to apply bug repellent? This may sound like a silly question but mosquitos and other buggies just adore me and eat me up

No worries, Trish, stand by me, I'm the best bug repellent for others.

Last week when I returned from Key West, I had 40, yes, forty bites on my left arm, 35 on my right arm, do not get me started on my legs, they got bitten up so badly. I will be there so y'all will be safe from the mosquitoes as they will be dining on my blood.

If anyone is just sitting around with nothing do (right your on the Keys) but just in case and want to head down to the beach just a bit early and give a hand putting the food on the table that would be great. If not no big deal it will be ready when you get there.
This beach party is what it says a beach party no foo foo stuff on the tables like some wedding

It's a kick off your shoes run your feet threw the sand smell the salt air listen to the ocean beach party. No dress code just wear something.

This is going to be such fun I cant wait to see everyone

Bring some Off. They are usually less on the beach but if the bugs love you then better safe than sorry.

So I've just chatted with MissBecky and will be helping her put food and stuffs together for the party. If anyone isn't diving that afternoon, has no plans, and would like to help out with putting things together and setting up, please post up. I'll keep the first post updated with info and helpers

Also some unforseen changes have occured and the party is costing a tad more than had originally been calculated. Not much just like $6-7 pp. Don't worry Becky is not going to back charge. She wouldn't do that. And actually I may get in a lil trouble for posting this But hey were SB'ers and we help each other out. So for those SB'ers that have asked, if ya feel like pitching in a couple more to help defray costs that would rock :thumbs-up Just in case her paypal is: Becky@speargirl.com

In the ITK 2010 thread I mentioned in a post tht we should throw becka some extra money I had said 5 bucks pp before this was posted 6 or 7 or even 10 bucks is fine with me............paypal is a pain for me however I have every intention to personally hand becka some cash when i see her at the party..............woohoo only 2 1/2 weeks!

I never make anything off of these things. I usually go in the hole. I always forget tax and all that other bull crap they sneak in there on me. Oh well live and learn.

So I hope that more people can give a little more than asked just to make sure that Becky does not get stiffed with a large bill at the end of the event. I have paypal-ed a little some extra to make it easier for Becky. She has gone out of her way for us to have a nice relaxing party for the kick off of ITK IV and welcome us to Kawama's.


I will not be able to help with setup though as I have a dive when the party gets started. I can certainly help with a little clean up though! Look forward to seeing everybody in a few weeks!

I arrive in to town that afternoon. Will definitely lend a hand. I'll square up with Becky on the $$ too. Been in her shoes before and know how quickly 'little costs' can add up.

Meaou & I will be staying at Kwama's after all with the MDU gang. So if we are done, we will be happy to come down and help.

I have that covered. I have bought 10 bottles of spray just in case. But we are on the beach on the Atlantic side so if we have a breeze there will be none. If not grab a bottle spray. I will have them in a area where everyone will know where they are at.
