You weren't kicked off. You just created another identity, and you're getting a fresh start, Scuba446...

Good catch Ben! I knew there was something familiar about this guy and some reason I didn't like him right from the start but I never put it together. Now it all fits, 446 even tried to use the OMS logo for an avatar once too! The Spongebob was far more appropriate though!

You should let him slide on the TOS. He embarrassed himself so badly as 446 that he really had no choice but to change. It was dizzying... BP-poodle jacket-BP-poodle jacket-BP-poodle jacket-GONE!

Those of you who are enjoying ol' scoobie's massive diving knowledge and experience might want to know he's only got a few dives under his belt. Did you break 20 yet scoob?

This is a great thread, the top BP haters, 446 and Leadweight, and the top BP lover, SeaJay, in pitched battle against everything and nothing at the same time!

Too much fun, thanks again Ben for the expose'! Priceless!

With all due respect and honor to Ben for what was indeed a priceless post :appls: , I believe this is even better...

Too funny...you knew this thread was gonna be a good one back on the first page.

SpongeBob...hehe...

WW got it right.

I'm just curious whether this thread is supposed to read like a stylistic parody of Faulkner's "The Sound and the Fury" or whether I just lucked out.

I remember that poodle jacket/BP debate. Mental whiplash everytime I logged in.

There should be a forum here for the "thread of the day"...each day the most dizzying twists and turns and the overall most entertaining threads are highlighted for everyone to see. This one is a pure classic!

LMAO!...Busted!

WW, do you simply lack the ability to sit down at a keyboard and write something that is not obnoxious? "I didn't like him right from the start."

You could make a contribution around here. But, you choose to put all your effort into ranking people out. Just a negative personality.

I don't actually hate the BP as a piece of gear. It is hard to hate an inanimate object.

Frankly, I think you are making a big mistake (to quote one of your epithets) in the way you size up other people and their views.

Hey EZ,

If I could have adjusted the BP I rented in 20 minutes, I would have probably bought one. But, it did not happen that way.

People who use jackets get abused so much around here they give up an don't post in the BC forum. Some get driven off this board entirely. In the Caribbean at least 75% of all divers use jackets. The most popular brand for back inflate is Zeagle and it outnumbers all other brands of back inflate BC's put together.

Oddly enough, I saw a couple of BP's down at Laguna Beach last week. The couple bought them at 5th D because they had trouble getting standard BC's to fit over their drysuits. Neither of these divers were DIR. They had AI computers and split fins.

However, a very knowledgeable IANTD trained diver vacationing there was wearing a Seaquest back inflate BC, not one of his two BP's. I guess he only uses his BP's for doubles. His cave rig had a continuous harness, but his open water BC used a so-called delux harness with a slide fastener and chest strap. He believed it to be too difficult to cut someone out of the continuous webbing harness in deep water. In his view a cave rescue scenario gear stripping would take place with the injured diver in shallow water outside the cave where the rescuers could stand.

Yea Lead, which regards to certain people, it seems that I do lack that ability. When you hear enough BS over time you get tired of it. Its the same thing over and over from him for a long time now. Its pretty much that way with you too but I do give you credit for having some intelligence.

I don't size everyone up that way. There's lots of people I like, lots more I have no opinion on. Scuba446 doesn't fall into either of those categories.

You should search the archives for his posts during his last incarnation. Once you do you'll probably disassociate yourself pretty quickly.

I find it a riot that y'all consider me the "top zealot" of bp/wings now. Funny.

Don't y'all remember this thread? That was 191 dives ago. Ten months ago. :D

Amazing how things come 'round. I was calling people like me, "Nazis!"

What's the difference? When did I change my opinion? Well, take a guess. :)

The subject of Scoob is another topic, though. I have no idea what happened before, and I have no idea why he got banned. I certainly would like to read the thread that got him banned.

Regardless, I know Scoob relatively well, and I, for one, can be a character witness for the man. I love the guy.

Right now, because of this "discovery," Scoob's been re-banned.

May I please ask the moderators of the list to reconsider? Whatever the issue was, certainly it's over with by now. I don't want to see my buddy go.

That's just not right, man. :(

He wasn't banned previously, he simply embarrassed himself so badly he quit coming around. Do some archive searches on Scuba446,you'll see.

Did they ban him? I didn't think they would but it is a TOS violation to use sockpuppets.

I like you SeaJay, I'd really hate to see you get yourself associated with this guy. Do your homework before you stick your neck out just because you're a nice guy.
