Hey reg mechanics

got an older oceanic blue/black reg. hooked to my air-line electric compressor (hooka)
need to know how to stop the free flow

turning knob on side does nothing-actually the side adjustment knob does not engage anything when looking at inside of reg.

looks pretty simple setup concerning the few pieces of hardware

can i just tighten something and what tool do i need?

thanks

My first question is what it the hose pressure of the compressor? If it's too high, the reg will freeflow, if not then there is something wrong inside the reg. Without seeing it, it's hard to tell. Is the freeflow a slight hiss or a full blown freeflow?

If that is correct, you may well have an incomplete regulator. While some freeflows can be corrected with a simple adjustment, other require parts replacement to correct such faults.

I am not familure with the reg but that might be a venturi adjustment in which case it's nothing more than a small plastic "wing" inside and nothing else attached to it. Open up the reg and shoot a couple of photos, that will help a lot.

Thanks to all who replied on the oceanic.

There is a triangle on the purge

I believe it should be set at 70 psi. Need to find out the exact pressure in hose.

The air flow when out of water is not considerable so its a hiss and air is escaping when upside down out the circular housing and when facing upwards out the mouth piece ( mouth upwards)

I will shoot some photos and post.

Thanks again

Reasons for ff......at less than 140psi.
The Delta has a plastic piston that pushes on the lever lock nut.....screwing in the knob increases the piston resistance.....this can get seized.
The hockey puck seat is worn.....flip or replace.
Orifice needs adjusting.
