As in the past, we will be doing a series of free Discover Tec sessions again this year. Last time we did this, we conducted a total of three sessions. We anticipate holding the first session in the first half of February, while most people are not diving.
There were some requests to video tape the sessions last time, which we were unfortunately not able to accommodate. However, we will try to do that this year. We will post the video to the Dive Zone Scuba Youtube channel:

The purpose of this experience is to introduce interested recreational divers to technical diving equipment and skills. The experience consists of one three hour classroom session and one three hour pool session. The classroom session includes setting up backmount doubles rigs, decompression tanks, and practicing a few skills on dry land. Once the diver has attended the classroom session, they can participate in the in water portion where they will practice the same skills. Previously certified recreational sidemount divers are also able to attend. However, everyone else will be doing the experience in backmount doubles.
Divers are encouraged to use their own gear such as backplates, wings, etc., but we will provide all other necessary gear.
There is no cost to the session. But no shows will not be able to attend another session without paying the normal course fee.
Interested divers can contact us at divezonescuba@yahoo.com. Please include a copy of your highest level certification in your email.

This channel contains videos primarily related to technical scuba diving training, techniques, equipment, and trips. However, many of the concepts are also useful for recreational divers in general.
