Yeah, good spot. I'll be there in July looking for channelled whelks. Not a whole lot of success so far, but some.
 
I just unload my gear and park a block away and walk over to the point.
I've decided to give Merwin Point a try. Can you remember what road you parked on? Beach Ave.? How far a walk is the one block from the point--can I do it geared up? Thanks in advance.
 
This is approximately what I did when I dove Merwin Pt. I dropped my gear at the entry point and then parked the car just outside the posted no parking (or was it residential sticker?) area. I swam out and around the point and back. Depths only go down a 15-20 fsw. Bring a line cutter, you will need it. If you are collecting lead for weights, this is an excellent spot. Let me know how it goes. The Visibility is going to be about as good as it will ever be in the Sound. My guess is that you will experience 50 Shades of Brown...
