Why does this thread move around from forum to forum?
Hi TJ,

I believe it was originally (and accidentally) started in the NorCal forum, even though it was a SoCal (read "OCal") wreck.

I was reading it and noticed Chuck's comment about it being in the wrong regional forum. I asked our brand new super mod, cobaltbabe, to move it to the SoCal forum. I thought that it would be better, so that we could find it in the future if we did a search. So, it was moved to the SoCal forum.

Additionally... I think the assistance from cobaltbabe in Canada makes her an honorary Californian. She's in CanCal! ;)

So, that's my story and I'm stickin' to it! :eyebrow:

On the otherhand, we could be experiencing a moment in - The Twilight Zone! :11:

I believe I originally posted this thread when there was just one California forum.

If I recall, when the Cal forum was split into Nor Cal and So Cal, most of the threads initially went to the Nor Cal forum by default. Thanks for moving it here!

Thanks for your clear directions RichP. We went off the "Water's Edge" sign and lined up the bell tower with North and hit bottom about 20' off the barge. It was nice to finally find it this time seeing how its our second try. Visibility was about 10' but the dive was still worth it. Lots of schools of fish and things to see even with the low visibility. Looking forward to going back as this place will be awesome with 20' visibility. Thanks for the great directions RichP!

I've encountered so many people that have tried endlessly and have yet to find it. I think most expect it to be a fully intact barge. In reality, it's only fragments here and there. Also, I've never found it abiding by the 230' from the stairs. I've never been there in daytime always I do night so I know what my marker lights are to triangulate but I've never once missed it after I stopped attempting 230' strictly. I like to drop 15 ft. west of the barge. I once dropped right on top of it in very low viz and lucky I didn't get punctured in the groin so I learned real quick where to drop down.

Glad you can find it. It's one of my favorite places to bug hunt.

Thanks,
Shawn
