I will be staying in Fort Lauderdale for a few days in early September and would like to dive on Thursday and Friday. I prefer reefs to wrecks. Is Boyton Beach worth the extra drive - it looks like it would be about a one hour drive one way from FL.

Is the diving done as a drift dives at these two locations?

Any recommendations for dive ops would be appreciated.

We have reservations at the Sterling Suites in Fort Lauderdale since we got a great rate with them. Have any of you stayed there? Any comments are welcome.

In fort lauderdale there's lighthouse dive shop. Everytime I'm down there i check for dive charters goin.

Drift its a BLAST! No work just go!
There are a few good opps in FFL,and out of Pompano Beach, but Do one day take the trip north to Boynton beach as the reef system is real nice! lots of life!
several good opps run out of the marina and I like Splashdown divers, neat clean, large boat and that time of year you will have mostly locals yet, so no major crowds!
Enjoy as I head down Oct and Nov,
Brad
