This was from today Late September. More or less bottom of low season unless people stayed over from the half ironman (which I hope there were a few given the number of cars and boats)

This is from the street inside the new marina (if you turn right 50 yards inside the security gate, facing back north towards town) Ignore any blurry spots-my camera was still inside housing. Fonatur needs to fix the parking problem they created when they blocked off the parking lot :-)

And I see they're putting the taxis out on the main street before the guard gate...... Maybe they'll start an ADO route to the Marina

Unfortunately I do not think that Fonatur really cares about parking. The working boats in the harbor were a work around after they screwed up the marina design and to get an exit to the ocean they got the government to give the Caleta to Intercontinental Hotels (which has yet to be vacated). The dive and fishing boats and access were never planned for but the original planning per the mock up in the office (between the two marina sections) shows comercial development of all areas up to Puerta Maya. I believe
El Graduado posted a copy of the plan a few years back. The saddest part was the proposed development of the crocodile centote.

Mexican Civil Planning at work. Works about as well as the electrical engineering of the power and pump station for those silly dancing fountains in town square that went up in flames. Did they ever get that mess fixed (I believe it was going to cost a fortune) or is there just a dead dancing fountain now residing in the middle of the square with those pigeons crapping all over it?

Does that mean if you take a taxi to your dive boat (think 3P and their occasional use of Taxis vs. their staff vehicles) they drop you off at the gate? That is a damn long walk :(

Is this the one you're talking about?

That's just not happening, as far as I'm concerned. I'll use an op that picks up at a pier like CDM or VB.

Taxis are going all the way inside to normal drop off as far as I know. I don't see people being dropped off/picked up since I usually am coming and going a little later than most people, but taxi drivers standing near store by boat ramp ask me if I need a taxi fairly frequently when I am headed out. It may be out on the highway is the overflow taxi area, with a couple of taxis waiting inside. There is a lot of taxi overflow in Cozumel these days with no cruise ships. They probably are willing to wait 2-3 hours for 150 peso fare.

Parking? How about they get water and electricity to the south side of the marina?
