My comment was directed at you.
I have two sets of gear. A single set up, and a doubles set up. I need no other "stuff" and with it I can dive any recreational environment and do it safely. Both of my rigs are set up similarly so I don't' have to re-learn where things are when I move between the two.
So again, tell me where this kind of rig won't work in on ANY recreational dive.
I have not said it won't work for every dive, but it doesn;t work for every DIVER.
There is a difference.
So why not minimize the risks you mention as much as possible? This thread for starters.
There is no way but the DIR way, anything else will get you killed.
Not true, DIR is a way to manage RISK. Please, know what you are talking about before spouting off.
No matter how well it works for the AVERAGE OW diver, again most divers are not 2-300+ft technical divers doing staged decompression dives using multiple gas mixtures.
Again, you don't know ANYTHING about DIR.
They are going to see the pretty reef in the Caribbean, or see the ships that are sunk in the pretty warm clear water that were put there by an organization that stripped them of EVERY cable, widget and thingy that might catch a diver.
Do you have any idea what you're talking about?
Do I think that some of the clips divers use are to big or are being used for the incorrect application? yes, but thats the best part about this world and being an individual. Everyone is entitled to do as they wish.
Agreed, but does that make things safer when doing something like SCUBA diving in an admittedly hostile environment to a human?
Are there entanglement hazards everywhere? yes. A diver could die by going someplace they shouldn't and getting their tank valve twisted around loose wires and panicking.
well? How is that? Tell me how you come to that conclusion? That's all I ask. How would you know that?
Well, if he says it doesn't work for him, he confirms his statement... for the purposes of your question herewell? How is that? Tell me how you come to that conclusion? That's all I ask. How would you know that?
