Well the chemical and microscope work i've done with lake water was some nasty nasty nasty stuff in there like bacteria/fungus/mold/etc.. Plus you have fertilizers and god knows what else. If you are diving in the florida springs I can assure you that's probably better water quality than the stuff you drink ;) Lakes are bad for having polution from surface run off, sewage dumping from upstream cities and other contaminats like that.

All things considered if it was me I would opt for the tap water, unless i'm diving in the springs then I don't even use a rince tank as it's pointless.
