Looking for a dive charters in Florida north of West Palm Beach Florida that has good visibility and good diving for kids 12 to 14 years old? For the end of March into the first week of April.

rainbow river drift dive?
Most of the off shore diving I know of on the north east fl coast is pretty deep (although there are some shore dives towards central/southern east coast fl).

Blue Heron Bridge is a great spot, but does not require a charter, as it is a free shore dive (Tide dependent). There are shallow reefs down in Pompano, but that is a bit further South of West Palm. Jupiter is just North of West Palm, but it generally has deeper dive sites.

Sorry I don't really have any good answers for ya.
Good luck!!!!

What are their max. depth limits?

I ask because looking at PADI's page on the subject, Junior OW divers are recommended to be limited to 40 feet, but those 12 to 14 who get Junior AOW are recommended to a max. depth of 70 feet on their 'Deep Adventure Dive.' Does that mean it's accepted for 12 year olds with Junior AOW to dive to max. 70 feet thereafter?

2 Issues come up; what you are the parent/guardian are okay with, and what the dive charter staff are okay with. If you book a dive trip where the group is diving around 60 feet deep, and you're told the kids aren't to break 60, that could be a problem.

Sounds like a good match for shallow reef diving in Key Largo, but you said north of West Palm Beach.

Richard.

Call Sandy's Sunday (Ocean Divers). That operator works with a lot of young divers.

Scuba Club is also good with newer divers.

If you determine that WPB is too deep, try Pompano. The first reef line is only 30 feet deep. South Florida Dive HQ runs daily boats. Gold Coast Scuba can also supply some ideas.

If you are diving with two young divers at the same time, hire a guide. It will be worth the extra outlay.

Watch the marine conditions closely. March and April can be flat calm or robust and terrible which might not be appropriate for young divers.

I can think of NOTHING north of WPB in the "shallow" range except for Pepper Park, and Bathtub Reef in the Vero Beach area.
I recommend contacting Deep 6 Watersports and Dive in Vero.

Does not care about PADI's depth limits with experienced divers.

Tanks-A-Lot Dive Charters in Clearwater Beach, FL is an excellent charter. Veterans Reef would be a good dive for the kids to go to as most of them are in the 40 ft range.

Thanks to all of you for all of your information.

The Blue Heron Bridge looks like a good place to go. Does anyone have a dive company they can recommend in the area for tank rentals and a boat dive?

BHB, Blue Heron Bridge; IS a great suggestion. 2 of our Grandkids learned to snorkel there and we dive BHB regularly--incredible critter life!

Force E dive shop is a couple of blocks west of the bridge on Blue Heron and Pura Vida is about the same distance west on Singer Island(turn at the Chevron gas station). We frequent and like both of them.

Pura Vida and Force E are both close to the bridge and both good shops, in my experience. They both also run charters.
