deeper thoughts:
Hope the seas are nice, it is pretty bumpy out there now and probably for the next couple of days

tks mate, we are planning to dive Thu-Sat. been watching the Molasses Reef forecast and a bit worried about the wind. The guidance we have been getting is that the choppy seas just make for unpleasant boat ride but still safe and the viz is not affected.

how do you feel about diving in these conditions?

I spoke with our Captain yesterday...and we're expecting it to be VERY rough til about Friday or Saturday, when hopefully it will lay down. Unfortunately, it could make for some less than desireable viz....but lets keep our fingers crossed!

My fingers are crossed for you zahner. We start diving Sunday morning. Hope it all goes well for us both.

The viz will be reduced because of the shallowness of the reefs. I am spoiled now and only dive when I can walk on the water but before i lived here we dove many times in 4-6 foot seas and it is challenging to say the least but we had some good dives. Most of the boat capts out here no where to put you to reduce the surge and waves to a degree. Hope this helps and hope you have a good time
