I would like to ask also about local flights to Bali. I have read that low cost airlines (Air Asia, Lion air, Sriwamaya) are unfaithful and their flights are often delayed. On the other hand, Garuda and Air Malaysia are more expensive. What is your opinion?
My return flight to Europe will be from Kuala Lumpur at 0:55, and I have a possibility to take the Air Asia flight which come to KL at 23:10 - is it enough time to take baggage, transfer and check-in? Normally I would take an earlier flight, but it is much earlier and I would have to wait 7 hours at the airport. What is the situation at the KL airport and what is the better choice?

I frequently used Air Asia to travel in this region - so far have no complain; no experienced significant delay but will not take any risk to spare less than 3 hours to the next flight. KLIA is very modern airport, clean and cozy - so 7 hours is not too bad; or you can visit and enjoy KL using KLIA express - very fast 28 minutes (amazingly accurate +/- 30 seconds) and its's comfortable train.
In Indonesia I prefer Garuda - indeed more expensive.

If you take the later Air Asia flight you will have less than two hours before your next flight. During that time you will have to get off the plane (23:10 will be the landing time), go through immigration, collect your bags, get on a bus at the LCC (up the narrow bus stairs with all your luggage and no under-the-bus luggage hold), make your way to the main KLIA terminal (it's a 10 minute ride) and check in within 45 minutes of your outbound flight, at the latest (they close the check in counter after that). With some luck you might make it, but in my opinion, you will probably not have enough time. And if your Air Asia flight is delayed at all, you will be well and truly screwed.
