I'm choosing a new reg and have read everything I can find with the search function. I know these are both great regs and you can't go wrong with either. I like that Zeagle sells replacement parts direct to consumer. I also like the SP warranty policy.

Which one would you choose, and why?

Hi Bossman,

Is the Scubapro warranty actually superior to Zeagles's? Or is it really the same?

I'm not positive, but I thought both brands had essentially the same warranty (in the United States anyway) free parts (service parts) at time of service, provided the regulator is serviced each year.

The are both great regs (I currently own 2 Zeagle Flathead VI's and love them, but am also a big Scubapro fan).

For me, the willingness of Zeagle to sell parts directly to their customers is a big deal (I service my own regs), and I wish Scubapro would follow suit (but they will not; they fear it would undercut the income collected by their authorized dealers from labor charges at annual service).

I think the reality is that only a handful of divers are interested in servicing their own gear.... I think Zeagle is making a smarter business decision, and I doubt selling parts to a few guys like me is hurting the Zeagle dealers...

With both brands, you do pay for labor charges at time of service. The actual parts that are replaced at the time of service are quite inexpensive (for the manufacturer), so that is why they are provided "free".

Have fun with whatever you decide...

Best wishes

...snip...For me, the willingness of Zeagle to sell parts directly to their customers is a big deal...

Add to that the fact Zeagle has a presence here on SB....just try to ask a SP rep a question about any of their products in an open forum. If I were looking for a new reg, it would be one that you can buy parts for without secret handshakes etc & get questions answered from the reps.
