Fl Keys trip questions

Planning on spending the week of Aug 18 - 25th meandering from Miami down to Key West, diving along the way. I've been to Key West a couple of times, but have never driven the highway.

How long would it take on average to drive from Key West to Miami airport?

How about from Miami airport just to Key Largo?

My wife is a brand new open water cert so I'm looking for some shallower, comfort type reefs to get her used to things. Suggestions?

I'm thinking that I'd like to stick to smaller boats so she is less intimidated/worried about holding other folks up, but not sure if any of them would have dive masters to increase her comfort level?

From Miami Airport to Key Largo, figure about an hour to 1 1/2 hours.....from Key Largo to Key West, 21/2 hours.

If your choice of dive operator doesn't have a DM/Guide on board, you may want to consider hiring one for just the 2 of you. It is fairly inexpensive, and it is a service available from all the shops.
