I have a couple of photographs from my last trip to Grand Bahama that I need some help identifying fish. One photo is of a small school of fish which quite honestly is too distant to really ID with any certainty. I think its a small school of Blue Chromus which either the flash or the developing caused to be purple? If you look closely, the lead portion of the school (just outside flash range) is actually blue while the trailing edge are purple. The other is a reef photograph which has two fish in the lower left corner. I have looked at every fish in the Reef Fish Identificatin book and the only one which comes close is the Creolefish, but I have my doubts if thats what these really are. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks!

Hello,

With these 2 photo's it's impossible to get a possitive ID on those fish. Do you have any better photo's?

Ed

In the first picture, all I see are a school of some sort of pink fish. Doubt those are Blue Chromis! :eek:ut: In the second picture, on the far left edge, almost at the bottom is a couple of Bar Jacks. Other than that, I only see shadows of fish in the distance.

Unfortunately, neither of these pictures are close enough to give any help with ID.

However, I do agree with Dee that the 2 fish at the bottom of the 2nd picture are Bar Jacks.

No idea what the pink school is.

Any way of you blowing up the school of fish for us to get a better look?

Sorry! :(

The two fish in the second picture are definitely bar jacks.

The fish in the first picture are too distant and blurry for a positive ID. They seem to be the wrong body shape to be Blue Chromis. They are the right body shape to be juvenile creole wrasse, but without a closer, sharper photo I couldn't tell you for sure. Do you remember what they looked like? Were they kind of grainy looking, as if they were blue covered with tiny, granular, darker blue dots?
