Wow that's quite an impressive hawkish, I didn't realise there was a species that grew to that size (60cm according to Wikipedia), I'm more used to seeing Oman, Freckled and Pixie Hawkfish.

Thank you gang. @Pipehorse sent me a DM saying it is a Giant Hawkfish. I did a little research and found the following: The giant hawkfish (Cirrhitus rivulatus), also known as the hieroglyphic hawkfish, is a species of marine ray-finned fish, a hawkfish belonging to the family Cirrhitidae. It is a marine fish and the largest of the hawkfish family with maximum size of 60 cm (24 in) in total length.

I’m not an expert on that region, but looks like Cirrhitus rivulatus.
This is my first time diving in the Pacific. The trip was full of "WOW's" for the number of species seeing for the first time, both under and above water. From Sloth, Strawberry Dart Frog, Keel-Bill Toucan and Spider Monkeys above, to Giant Hawkfish, Mobula, Harlequin Clown Shrimp, Moorish Idols, Panamic Barnacle Blenny, and more, lots more

here is a link to the trip report and more pictures from above and below water
