Weird question. This week is gong be our first ocean dives with a dive charter. Question I have is, do you tip dive boat crews and how much is standard vs a job well done amount.

if I go on a two tank dive I tend to tip $20.00, just me, I use to be a server at a restaurant so...

If there is an in-water guide, I tend to tip $15-20 per two tank trip. If there is no in-water guide, I tend to tip $10. This all assumes your happy with the service level.

On behalf of all those making a living in diving...Thank you for asking that question. Just like it is customary to tip your food server, it is polite to tip your boat crew. After all, they work hard to make sure you are safe and have a good time. The standard tip is $5 per tank.

Of course, if you experience exceptionally good or bad service, you can adjust your tip accordingly.
