Clearly, the conflating of two different vaccines in one thread is confusing people.
The older one (Ixchiq) is bad, no question, the newer one (Vimkunya) seems OK.
But if people just keep posting negative things based on Ixchiq that obscures the issue of the possible value of Vimkunya.
Perhaps @drrich2 or someone who is NOT confused could post a periodic status report; those of us (many, I suspect) who spend a number of weeks a year in the parts of the Caribbean with chikungunya prevalent want to keep a close eye on this.
 
Regarding the vaccine Ixchiq, my wife and I were given it in January 2025 by our county travel nurse prior to our trip to Raja Ampat and Thailand. Wife is 65 and I am 70, we had no problems whatsoever.
Glad we got it while we could! Now if we could only get the Dengue vaccine approved in the US.
Seems that older individuals with underlying health issues seem to be the ones having problems with the Ixchiq vaccine.
