We went to Vortex Spring for our first checkout dive yesterday. Everything went pretty good, except I think the temp was a little cold (and shocking) compared to the nice warm swimming pool we had been practicing. I also had a little trouble with my mask clearing checkout, it seems I got a little panicky and both forgot to breathe and forgot to blow out my nose. But I completed all the checks and the instructor was happy. We have one more checkout dive there on Saturday, so if anyone is planning on going, feel free to stop by and say hi.
