Any tricks for finding the manatees? Are they even around this time of year inland or only in the colder months?

Thanks

They are easier to find in the colder months. The best suggestion I have is to go with a shop that does manatee trips. They know the locations and routines of the manatees. I have always had good sucess with Birds.

i called crystal river dive shop and they told me they saw one, i guess there not around much at this time

They're gone...Dec, Jan, early Feb is the best time to see them in Crystal River. Check out my pics of this year's trip!

Any other suggestions for diving in the Orlando area? Caverns?

They are around all year, but in very small numbers. Most migrate out to the gulf but a few will stay around all year. Obviously they will be harder to find. Crystal River is by far the best place to find them. I have swum with them in all months but I have been skunked often when it wasn't winter.

The colder and nastier the weather is the easier it will be to find them....
