I bought octopus on ebay: Seaquest XR2. Two techs at dive shop have different opinions. One says water entered the first stage at some point and needs a replacement kit and the other says the it is like new. Both recommend a replacement kit on the second stage as a matter of proper maintanance. Seaquest was bought by Aqualung. Aqualung told the tech that the kits were not available any longer. Does anyone know where to obtain 1st stage and 2nd stage kits? I am looking for a recent inexpensive version of the book entitled Scuba Tune-Up Guidebook.

...the fact that service kits aren't available any longer might explain why the unit was sold on E-Bay in the first place. You're gonna have to do some scrounging, assuming it didn't go out of production too long ago, there are likely to be service kits laying about somewhere. If you can search the Aqualung site like I search the Halcyon site, you can get a list of the biggest Aqualung dealers, the bigger the dealer, the more likely they are to have left over parts. (Halcyon lets you search their site by biggest dealers in decending order...don't know if Aqualung has the same functionality.)

Hi Doc, you called my shop Abyss Scuba this morning. I sent you to another shop that I thought might be able to help. In the interim I checked with Aqua Lung USA, the tech there said you should be go to go with cousteau or conshelf service kits. Go back to your original shop and have them call AQ and talk to the tech in house.

Hope this helps

There are four posts from the OP asking the same question. As I said in the others
9000-00 is the kit for the first stage and a 9000-03 will service the second easy enough.
