Mike Veitch:
Thanks to SB i have met a whole bunch of people online from the Philippines who have adopted me.....

I will go to see them in person in late May. So yes, i have made a bunch of friends here.

Also, i have met other great people from the thread not to be mentioned.. (its in the Surface Interval section)...

And a bunch of people have come to see me here and i will be meeting other SB people in Bali in Oct....

As for the love bit..... hmmmmmm

Hmmm, was hoping no one would see that...

oops

:D

before there was SB I met my now husband in an internet scuba related club. We chatted for a year before meeting and then there was no way back. We've known each other for 6 years now...wow, 6 years already. Hard to imagine.

I have know a few people who have met friends and romantic interest here. I have made some great friends but so far haven't found that special lady here. People on this board already have a love for diving which is the start of a good relationship be it friendship or more.

I cannot relate to the online romances. I need to feel the person's physical energy in the same room. It would be too random for me.

It is great to know people from all over the world though, and I think you become very close.

I know of some internet romances that worked out. I've met and become friends with a couple of people from this forum.

But as Catherine indicated falling in love online probably won't work. You need to meet someone to truely connect.

So I've given up on my internet romance with Jessica Alba, if she isn't going to respond to my 12 emails a day I'm afraid that she isn't going to truely win my heart.

OK, gotta go work on some emails.

Kevin and I know of many couples who have hooked up via our listserv lists. While the lists were the initial contact for the people it wasn't until having spent time with each other in person that they actually fell in love.

MoonWrasse:
There are laws against that, you know :D
The judge was very clear about what I can and can't do

Hmmm... maybe it is time for a Philippines dive trip...
