Wow, what an interesting bunch of posts. Are we going to start banning people from diving because they don't look good in wetsuits, next? I didn't know that scuba diving was such a glamour sport!!

IMHO, if a man (including my husband) is more comfortable wearing a speedo under his wetsuit, then he should do just that. He is not there to make you happy or entertain you! If you only want to see pretty people, go sit at the local Hooters and oogle to waitresses. As for me, I am going to go diving and enjoy myself.

Totally agree with Robin.
Besides, IMO, a person (man or woman) who looks comfy with their body no matter how imperfect it is is much sexier than someone hiding behind ridiculous amounts of fabric.

You do all know that the word SPEEDO is a brand name of a swimwear company? Ever heard of Q-tips and Kleenix?

just sayin....

(sorry - pet peeve)

Hey Gentleman, You all have seen them I'm sure, but, Michael wears the longer thigh style speedo under his wetsuit. He also can not stand a suit bunching up. I bet that is uncomfortable.

Also, just food for thought, when we were in Bonaire last year/August. We did observe a group of male divers from Germany who were entirely nakie under their wetsuits. They came out of the water, stripped off their neoprene, actually dried themselves off...everywhere and for a long time with towels while standing in the middle of everywhere for all to see. Once they were dried off, they put on their swim board short type suits and went on their way. I will admit it was more interesting and entertaining than seeing gentlemen in true speedo's. Hey, they were having a great time while on vacation, nothing wrong with that. Besides as a nurse of 32 years , believe me when I say I am not unfamiliar or blush with nakedidiness...it was just comical to see :rofl3:

Overall, however, really to each his or her own. Just be comfortable and get out there and enjoy life. If diving is part of it, all more the better !!!

Oh Gawd Kevin! Why did you have to post this? We finally broke my Dad of his speedo addiction that he's had since the days of Johnny Weismuller as Tarzan! All we need is for him to have a new excuse to start wearing them again! Thanks a lot! :shocked2:

What makes it worse is he's an avid diver that's been into scuba since you could buy gear in the Montgomery Wards catalog, and he refused to wear a wet suit unless the water is in the 60s. He's going with us on our up coming trip, and the last thing Cozumel needs is for him to be diving with just a BC and speedo covering him!

On the other hand, it might scare the damn lionfish all the way back to the Pacific!
:rofl3:
