Thanks for every ones advice over the years. I truly have heard so many possible causes, and of course for every one it is different. There is one cause no one has really ever told me about and that was "FATIGUE".

I tried every thing, and since last year, I had a suspicion that it was fatigue, and confirmed it on my recent trip to Mataking / Borneo. I got a good rest on the way over, and was well rested on arrival. Did not have any nausea or head aches which usually accompany my first days diving. Further more, on day 3 I drifted off into a deep sleep, only to be woken 10 mins later to go diving. Sure enough, got a head ache on that dive.

Please not that I had fairly clogged sinus' for most of the trip, and my nose was flowing like the Niagra Falls, but that suprisingly did not affect me ( I used to think it was my sinus ).

Happy to kow the reason, but not so happy, as it might restict my live aboard diving as I am a very light sleeper.

So, there are many possibilites, but please add fatigue to the list.

I find that I can sleep well on a boat but often the noises bother me.
I wear comfortable earplugs and can sleep much better. Sometimes a blackout mask also helps.

It is a good idea to let the crew know that you are wearing earplugs so they know to physically wake you if needed as a shout might not do it.

Glad you found your problem.
