Got home from work thursday night and my monitor was black. Huh? it was fine when I left! This morning took the case off and low and behold the fan to the chipset had died and therefore the mobo too. Bummer. OK no biggie, I'll just run to my fav comp shop and get another just like it. (really don't want to have to reload the OS).
Well of course they don't make this board anymore since it's 3 yrs old. Ok so I wan't another Abit board that will work with my AMD XP blaa blaa. Nope they don't carry them anymore. I have allways used Abit board but I need my SB fix so ok I'll take the Asus one (also a good brand I know). Put everything back together but it's still acting stupid. Now what?! Allways seems that at least 2 things go out when the power supply or mobo die. Well luckily it was just the keyboard. So here I sit getting my fix using an OLD AT keyboard with a PS2 adapter. Quick run to Best Buy tomorrow will fix that. But all in all it went really well. Win2k had no problems with the new board and I just had to install some drivers. :07:
