Here's a link to a YouTube video made by a contributor called "ScubaNetwork" and entitled "How is made - Scuba Dive Rubber Fins":
YouTube - How is made - Scuba Dive Rubber Fins
I wonder whether anybody can confirm that this film was made at Pacific Molding Inc of Corona, Southern California? The video tracks the manufacture of two fin models, Oceanways Professional Fins and Scubapro Jet Fins, from the raw materials through the moulding process to the trimming and buffing of the finished products. Pacific Molding's website at
pacificmolding.com
includes several images reminiscent of shots in the video:
As a postscript to the above, a Kuala Lumpur based photographer called Shariff Che' Lah has posted a series of three photographs online, each captioned "Image of newly made rubber swim fins awaiting quality control check in a factory". The factory in question appears to be one located in the photographer's homeland, Malaysia, where the raw materials are easily sourced. Here are the three images:
1.
2.
The fins in these two images appear to be "Hydrofinz" swim training fins.
3.
An assortment of fin models, including Churchill Makapuus, Red Zoomers, Z2 Zoomers.
