We are just starting with underwater photography and purchased a Sealife Reefmaster and we were curious what film speed we should use. We only have the basic camera and aren't investing in strobes or anything just yet.

Thanks,

Since you aren't getting a strobe, then 200 or 400 makes sense.

Film has improved dramatically in the last 10 years and what you lose in fineness of film grain by going to 400ASA is probably more than made up by the reduced blurring from camera and subject motion that you get by having a faster shutter speed while using fast film.

Read the manual that came with it. It says either 100 or 200. (II can't remember which). I'd look in my manual to tell you correctly, but I sold it earlier this year.

I tried 400 in mine and they just were grainy and didn't have good color. I wouldn't reccomend 400.

I always shot 200 with my reefmaster. As mentioned before, the 400 was too grainy.
