They can and will pump to 3500 but with the speed they go it rarely is a true fill. And don't have ANY nitrox indication on the tank or they will refuse to fill it. see you there sunday!! I have an advanced class there.and I will be diving wet for a change.

Are they cool with DIN valves
Yes, I haven't had any trouble with mine. I usually end up with about 3200-3300 psi.

My tanks are all DIN and in the past I've had CDS fill all of them. However, a while back I had an HP120 fail hydro after 10 years. CDS' former manager felt it was probably linked to their hot fills. I don't fill my new HP120 there unless it is a slow day and they can give me a slow fill. I do fill my 3300psi Al DIN tank there.

In saying that, keep in mind they they are one of my primary gas suppliers (Scuba Luv being the other). I dive very frequently so my old HP120 was subjected to a LOT of hot fills which probably led to its failure.

If you dive the Point occasionally rather than nearly daily, this may not be an issue.

Really?!? Sincerly interested on the reason(s) behind this one. Not that I have any bumper stickers.

All the best, James

even if they are only topping up, if any indication of any form of eanx previouslty in tank they refuse to fill. I heard students from our shop with tape indicating old fills had to rent tanks instead of gettting their own tanks filled with air. You'ld have to ask the guys at the point their reasoning.

Well, it turned out that I didn't end up patronizing the fill station today. I think I probably used less than 100 psi for the "dives" for my rescue class, leaving ample gas to do a "fun" dive afterwards. (As fun as it was given the non-ideal conditions.)

I ran across a boat once that had a policy similar to the Casino Point fill station's -- i.e. they wouldn't do air fills in a tank with any kind of nitrox markings on it. I suspect this springs from the injunction against doing a conventional air fill into an O2-cleaned cylinder -- by doing so you render the tank technically unclean. But if you're getting your nitrox via continuous blending or membrane systems, you don't need O2-clean tanks and valves, and it's fine to do regular old air fills on top of them. To me the policy of that boat and the fill station demonstrates a lack of familiarity with these finer points.

Sorry we couldn't provide better conditions today at the Point, Frank O. I videotaped a class and a guided dive and the vis was awful, and the product greatly affected by it. Hope they are satisfied- at least they are all aware of what is was like down there.

Have been hearing up to 50' vis further up the coast. Guess it is time to take my local LDS up on their offer to dive their boat when I want to.

:censored: don't even get me started on THAT topic... Wasn't just CDS, I couldn't even get a fill at Scuba Luv because I had a Nitrox sticker on my tank (thought they did nitrox fills there???)! My tank is staying home from now on.... lol

Yep, that is both LDS' policy. But, my dear Missy, don't you have six tanks? Are they all labeled as Nitrox? But then you needn't carry all that weight over to dive here!

I have three tanks (one currently out of hydro and in need of a new valve before it is tested) but don't dive Nitrox (yet) so I don't face this problem. My only concern is whether a boat will fill my HP DIN-valved tanks.
