@amgscuba The dive staff at Sau Bay (Lotu and Carl) were excellent during our stay there earlier this year. They are very experienced and are very knowledgeable about the local area. A/C worked just fine in both bures that we stayed in.

We were at Sau Bay last night for a lovo and cava ceremony. The people were fantastic. The food was basic and seemingly authentic (my first time in Fiji so definitely no expert!—the chicken and taro leaf dishes were great, the papaya fritters pretty good, the pumpkin sprout salad and taro root were pretty meh as was the chocolate cake). The cava was better than I expected!

Freddy was the chief for the cava ceremony and a great host. John (I think?) was the guitarist and main singer—very talented and very friendly. It really felt like we were welcomed into a home/village as honored guests. Great evening!

The main bure where we were hosted was pretty and quaint. I did not see any air conditioning, but it was very comfortable with ceiling fans. There were no reports of bug bites from any of our group of eight. We did not see any of the bures/rooms for lodging. Can’t comment on the diving, but given their proximity to The White Wall and the best snorkeling I’ve seen I suspect it’s pretty good! I’ll post a few pics/videos when I can.
